The Wonder of Wonders
Christmas 2017! What a fitting morning to write something in this blog, on the theme: Tell the Wonders. What a wonder that God sent his Son to be born a baby, to take on human flesh, in order to save the world. What a wonder that he took our sins away, and made us whole. What a wonder that the whole world celebrates this special day, even though many don't believe it. We woke up this morning to CBC playing the classic Christmas carols: Joy to the World the Lord has Come, A Child is Born, O Come O Come Emmanuel... What a wonder!
What a wonder that we get to know God. That we can be his people. We are reading the book Knowing God by G. I. Packer with our Ladies Bible Study this year. The most important thing on earth to learn about, or study is God. It is the greatest mystery, the greatest marvel.
I am also reading Ann Voskamp's The Broken Way. The part I underlined last night is the part about gift giving. All giving comes from God. He is the giver of all good things. The miracle of man becoming part of the Trinity is that we also become givers. Thanksgivers, Forgivers, Care-givers and Life-givers. Without Christ this giving is impossible. What a wonder.
